Access to drinkable water is important for the development of any community. Safe and reliable water unlocks potential by helping with all facets of life from cooking to proper sanitation and hygiene practices – many things that we take for granted here in the United States.
• Nearly two billion people worldwide do not have access to safe/clean water.
• Over one billion individuals lack access to adequate sanitation.
• Lack of safe water and sanitation results in more than 5% of all child deaths.
Water is an essential part of life on this planet. Death from illnesses like diarrhea, dysentery, and cholera caused by dirty water and unhygienic living conditions effect nearly 1,000 children worldwide every day. As part of our holistic approach to helping vulnerable children, Armor of Hope Foundation works with organizations worldwide to build water wells, small dams, spring protections, and other water sources.
When there is access to clean water and sanitation one can see a marked decrease in waterborne diseases resulting in healthier children attending school regularly, and mother can focus on helping their families when they have to spend less time carrying water.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing reliable water projects to communities in sub-Saharan Africa who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation.
